Afterhours with Professor Anthony Jacobi
Professor Jacobi is the Head of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois and serves on the faculty, teaching and conducting research in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.
Afterhours with Professor Randy H. Ewoldt
Randy H. Ewoldt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has Ph.D. and S.M. degrees from MIT, and a B.S. degree from Iowa State, all in Mechanical Engineering. Before joining Illinois, he held a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Minnesota. At Illinois, his research group studies rheology, fluid mechanics, and design of complex fluids; in particular, this includes yield stress fluids, polymer gels, biological materials, and large- and medium-amplitude oscillatory shear (LAOS/MAOS). He serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics and Physics of Fluids, and regularly lectures at rheology short courses in the USA and Europe.
