President
Hi, my name is Hrushi Athreya and I am excited to be your President this year. This is my fourth year on ASME and previously I was the Competitions Director and the Co-Director of Product Development. Outside of ASME, I am the Chief Engineer and Former President of Illinois Robotics in Space, Business Director for MechSE MakerWorks, and Dome Telescope Operator for the University of Illinois Astronomical Society. Hi! My name is Grace Smith and I’m a junior in Mechanical Engineering. I am thrilled to be Vice President, Internal this year! I look forward to connecting the MechSE faculty with students and exposing them to all that the UIUC MechSE department has to offer. Hi guys! My name is Rose and I’m a Junior in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Art & Design and Chinese. I am the Vice President of External Affairs for ASME. My job is to connect members with the companies and resources necessary to achieve their goals. Outside of school, I play the saxophone and am in the Saxophone Ensemble here at Illinois. Hey! My name is Henrique Teixeira, the Co-director of ASME’s Special Projects committee. I am in charge of overseeing the making of ASME’s Homecoming Float and exhibits for Engineering Open House. Apart from ASME, I love to rock climb and bike! Hope to see you this semester!

My name is Jon, and I am one of ASME’s Special Projects directors. I am currently a junior in Mechanical Engineering looking to use my degree to develop technology used for scientific research. Some of my hobbies outside of ASME include playing piano and astrophotography. I’m looking forward to a fun and eventful school year!
