ASME Executive Board Elections for 2012-2013

·         When: April 24th

If you would like the chance to be a member of the 2012-2012 ASME Executive Board, elections going to be held later this month on April 24th!  This is a chance to become a leader within ASME and get to know some of your fellow mechanical engineering peers.  If you are interested in joining the ASME Executive Board please see the petition attached to this email.  The petition is due to Christine Littrell (littrel1@illinois.edu) no later than 5 PM on April 20th.

 

SWE & ASME Joint Event

·         When: Wednesday, April 25th , 6:30-8:30pm

·         Where: John Deere Pavilion (2005 MEL)  

Come join us to hear alumni talk about their transition to from college to industry.  The event will be a panel discussion with previous mechanical engineering students.  The panel will consist of mainly women, but men are encouraged to come as well.  Dinner will be served at this event.  Please email Madison Whitt at whitt1@illinois.edu if you have any questions.

 

Career Paths in Mechanical Engineering Conference

·         When: Saturday, April 28th, 11am-2pm

·         Where: John Deere Pavilion (2005 MEL)

Executive Board

American Society of Mechanical Engineers is an international organization that focuses on technical, educational and research issues.  With over 125,000 members worldwide, it has many benefits and events for both students and professional engineers.  As the University of Illinois student section it is our goal to host student-oriented programs which extend the learning experience at the university.  Specifically, we focus on technical, ‘hands-on’, social, and corporate activities, as well as programs which assist the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering.  Anyone is welcome and we encourage participation in as many of our events as possible.  Check out our ‘About Us’ page to get more information on how you can become an active member of the University of Illinois student section!
